Salt & Straw

Salt & Straw, the award-winning Portland-based artisanal ice cream shop, selected Los Angeles’ Larchmont Village for its first location outside of Oregon. Since a primary tenet of their mission is being a good community partner, their founders chose us to advise them as they opened in the upscale, tight-knit community.

We created a community relations plan that helped them build relationships with key neighborhood groups, businesses and the merchants’ association; identified strategic partnerships with local non-profits, including one with Larchmont Charter School’s Edible School Yard program, and helped them liaise with City Council. Since opening in Larchmont, there’s been a line around the block for Salt & Straw’s unique and delicious ice cream and they’ve opened five scoop shops in LA.
